my baby...

This is what its all about, this is my guitar. I've owned it for about 5 years now and it sounds sweeter than when i got it first. Its not my best though...no way, ive recently been handed down a YAMAHA 12 STRING thats about 35 years old and was said to have been played by the great Christy Moore. Its nice to imagine.

Whats new??  Check out my regular updates below.  Gig listings for Sligo, Boyle and the surrounding areas are updated on the music page.  See all my Boyle and Sligo news on the my town page.  I've got my favourite websites on the links page.  Once I have my pics page up and running it should be worth a look!  Make sure you sign my guestbook too!  Feel free to send me an email, for details see contact me.

Sligozone.net
Sligo woman Aine Chambers, creator of sligozone was interviewd by Dave Fanning on his radio show today. A very lucky 2 minute slot on Podge and Rodge has given the Sligo woman all she needs. You cant buy that publicity. Fair play though, Aines site is very informative and is full of news about Sligo and the surounding areas. A must see!!

Bands, bands, bands.
Over 20 bands from the north and south will set the tone for paddys day in Sligo. Said to be one of the largest events in Ireland, the paddys day fest will get underway in sligo town with a bang and I cant wait. I hope I get to see most of the parade but if you have any pics send them along and i'll post them on the pics page for all to enjoy. Happy St Patricks Day from Thomas c.

The rock and roll kid.
Thursday 23 march Charlie McGettigan plays a fundraising concert in the church of Mary Immacullate in Grange....The first time I went to see Charlie was in the highly regarded Moving Stairs in Boyle, and Charlie and his band were on top form.  So if your in Grange on the 23rd dont miss out.

Update for...Saturday March 18th
A great day was had by all in sligo at the St Patricks day parade. Even the biting cold could not dampen the high spirits of the Sligo parade. The sounds of trumpets and drums helped me forget about it thats for sure. The streets of Sligo town were packed with people, all cheering on the the marching bands and brilliant floats. There was even a new cure for the bird flu called "Hensip"given to a sick chicken. I must say that was strange but very funny.Another amazing sight for me was standing on top of Harmony Hill and looking at the streets full of spectators all enjoying the parade. I dont think I have ever seen the town that full and Iwill never forget the sight of two elephants shaking trunks with the judges on the O Connell Street viewing stand!

Tell me why I dont like Mondays....Maybe beacuse it is cold windy day with a biting chill factor. For this time of year its very strange that its so cold out, but that didnt' stop strummers notes scouting sligo for the best sounds over the weekend.
